“3 perfect graduation outfits”

“3 perfect graduation outfits”

(In my best singing voice) As we go on. We remember. All the time we had together. Anybody guess who sang this song? Another 90’s artist Vitamin C “Graduation”!!! So I will be sharing 3 outfit ideas that you can wear to attend a graduation.
Ahh, graduation. I remember my college one vividly. The excitement, anticipation, and unknown for my future. I also remember how important it was to look my very best for this special day!!! Whether you are a guest or the actual graduate, dressing for this occasion is a big deal. All the money, hard work, sweat and sometimes tears you put into your education you need to show out big on this huge life event!!!
I’m referring to the big one’s high school and college. Not the small primary school ones. After doing some research here are some things to think about when choosing an outfit for graduation:
  • Most graduations are in May or June so pretty summer separates or a dress is appropriate. I actually wore a summer dress to my high school and college graduation!
  • Go for relaxed fits in trousers and lightweight material
  • Choose white or pastel colors with details
  • Carry a well-structured handbag that is roomy to fit the camera, tissues (believe me you will be using them) and any other thing you can think of.

So with all this is in mind here are some outfits that I created centered around those tips
Outfit #1. Wearing a dress with feminine touches like lace to graduation.  Nothing says feminine than lace. Choose a nude or soft/ pastel color and wear minimal heels. This darling dress was a steal!! At my favorite store… Did you guess?? Kohls!!! It was on there 75% clearance rack, and I was able to snag this Lauren Conrad dress for 6 bucks!! Whoop whoop!!!
Style tip: Because graduations can have a lot of walking, make sure to stick a pair of sandals or cute flats in your bag to rest your feet. That way when it’s time to take pictures you can switch back your shoes and actually look pleasant in the photo instead of looking like you’re in pain!!

Style tip: Ladies belts are your best friend!! They will help you define your waist and if you are bigger in the midsection, belts will create the illusion of a smaller waist!! Giving you a more proportionate figure.
Outfit #2 Not into dresses?  Than try a classic black and white combo to a graduation ceremony!!! This white top is a refreshing take on modern classic and the added scallop detail brings oomph to the outfit. I chose a nice pair of well-made trousers and black strappy flats. Whether you are a sibling or mother of the graduate you will represent them well in this dignified and honorable look.

Outfit #3 Choose something with print!!! It is a celebration after all!! So embrace patterns like this polka dot dress or choose a colorful dress. Polka dots are a classic print that will never go out of style!! Allow yourself and your wardrobe to beam with happiness because you helped get this person to graduation!! You earned it!!!
Style tip: Make sure to bring a jacket!! You know they will have the AC on full blast this time of year. Nobody wants to be sitting in the audience freezing and unable to enjoy the ceremony. So make sure to grab that cardigan or small jacket to throw over that sleeveless dress!!!

Style tip: Find a dress with interesting details for this special day. A criss-cross detail like pictured above.
What a huge milestone to cross and that is why it’s important to have the perfect outfit when attending a Graduation. You want to represent yourself and the fellow graduate positively and honorably!!! I hope these 3 outfits inspire you if you have an upcoming graduation in the next couple of weeks. Do you guys remember the outfit you wore or fond memories of your graduation?? I would love to hear about. Please leave a comment below!!!
