“Monthly words of encouragement from Matthew 17:20”

“Monthly words of encouragement from Matthew 17:20”

Hi, ladies. It’s the beginning of a new month and the chance to refresh and attack goals or tasks that you didn’t complete in the last month. There is no room for excuses when you have faith and God in your life. This month’s words of encouragement are from Matthew 17:20:

Because you have so little faith, Truly I tell you, if you have faith, as small as a mustard seed, you say to to this mountain, Move from here to there and it will move. Nothing will be impossible for you.

words from matthew

This passage will fill anybody’s spirit and rejuvenate their being. Sometimes I need these reminders to help me conquer my obstacles. It is so easy to get bogged down by deadlines at work, financial struggles, social media, and our careers that we loose site of faith. I know I am guilty of this at times, But having faith in God can truly move mountains no matter how big or small they seem.

verse from Matthew

When we are able to surrender our feelings of doubts, and worries on God it’s when we can have the most peace and clarity. The big scary obstacle that was in front of me seems less menacing and scary because I leaned on my faith and God. It says clear as day in scripture, “Nothing will be impossible for you.”

verse from Matthew

So take the time to figure out what you need to do in order to keep your faith in yourself so when life’s roadblocks happen (and they will) how are you going to move it or navigate it? In order to keep my faith and not let “mountains” derail my path to Christ I:

  1. have quiet times. This is a time I try to dive deep into the word, so I can be the servant I know God wants all of us to be. Without the Bible, it is easy to retract and go back to my old self and lean on my own understanding. When that happens, my faith usually dwindles with God.
  2. Pray. I’m not talking about a short sweet prayer that lasts for 30 seconds, but one where I open up to God about all my problems, fears, and vulnerabilities. When I am able to do this, the mountain does not seem as big and I am able to climb it.

This is an awesome post. In times of stress, I need this reminder to lean not to my understanding. To help strengthen my faith, I seek out advice, worship and fellowship with others who can also testify that faith without works is dead. I needed this today!

Quiet times are a must. I don’t know why it is so hard for me to have them. Also, I love that you explain even if you lose a little faith, all you need is the amount of a mustard seed, and it is still there. You just have to work on it. Thanks for the post!

You are so welcome. It can be hard to find time for a quiet time because life is pulling you three thousand directions!! But those moments with God really help keep my faith going even if it is as small as mustard seed!!!

OH Janel I LOVE this!!! I definitely have those days where it’s almost like I forget to be strong, to have faith. This was such a great read for me to start my week. Aside from praying, I also find the courage to accomplish things when I just decide to be brave, put my “big girl pants on” so to speak. Hope you had a great weekend girl:)

I am so glad you enjoyed this post Laura. Yes girl!! I have had to force myself to “put on my big girl pants” mindset when I procrastinate about doing things that make me uncomfortable. God is so good though and he really helps keep me on track through my faith. Thanks for stopping by!!!
